 Hey guys 😄 Let's learn something about trauma. Most people fear to seek help because they fear being victimized and judged. My blogs aim to provide a safe space where we can share about our experiences.

Trauma occurs when people are exposed to extremely distressing events which exceed their ability to cope. Traumatic experiences range from mild to more severe forms of rape, bullying, accidents, rejection, domestic violence, death of a loved one e.t.c

Trauma is characterized by;

1. Irritability and aggressive behaviours even to non-threatening situations.

2. Avoiding places, people or things (PPT) that evoke feelings and memories related to the traumatic event.

3. Difficulty concentrating.

4. Persistent feelings of shame and guilt.

5. Trouble trusting others which leads to difficulties in forming stable and healthy relationships.

6. Negative beliefs about oneself and self-blame.

7.Low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness.

There is help out here don't suffer in silence;

1. Practice meditation

2. Practice relaxation exercises such as yoga and breathing exercises

3. Eat a well-balanced diet and sleep well.

4. Journal your emotions.

5. Engage in physical activities.

6. Seek professional help.
